Burma's crisis and Indonesia's opportunity / Sam Polk - 2008

Summarises Burma's economic, political, and social problems, and suggests that as ASEAN's most powerful member Indonesia is uniquely placed to lead an international effort to ease the suffering of the people of Burma. Identifies some specific policy steps that Indonesia could take, in the process improving the prospects for regional powers to engage with the ruling junta possibly leading to a process of national reconciliation.
